Recently we had a super fun finger painting fiasco. Thanks to Anna for letting us get her patio all finger painty and artistic. And thanks for taking cute pics in the meantime!

big day

In my world....hair salon and gyno...woot.

I'm usually not a fan of the hair salon cuz it takes forever and my head is sooo ridiculously sensitive that it hurts!

Today seemed rather fast and painless. Does your hair dresser ever give you massages? Besides the freezing cold water and the incredible amounts of foam in my ear. Wow. She was massaging and I kinda got "the tingle" not gonna lie. You know the one..us girls all talked about it when we were 14. Then she used this mint tea shampoo...I should have worn a diaper. I think I wet myself.

Switching gears...

Ladies...don't you hate when you are on the table and the gyno tells you to "scoot down". Nuff said!
It isn't every day I get to see my ovaries on the big screen. They might be featured in the next big Hollywood film since they did such a good job!!

;)

The weather has been perfect around here lately. Pants and t-shirt weather. My fav! It´s always been...wait for it....WINDY! This NEVER happens and it makes me very happy. It´s been windy for at least 2 weeks and it makes the days perfect in the sunshine.

Our mornings usually consist of eating breakfast, watching some Peppa Pig, getting dressed and then heading straight outside in search of the nearest park. There are at least 10 to choose from.

Our life is so different than it would be in the USA because I feel like we are OUTSIDE 90 percent of our day...whereas in the STATES everyone´s houses are so big they have no need to leave.

I sure do miss the space sometimes, but what can be better than sunshine and fresh air on a daily basis???

pet peeve!!!!

I wear socks to bed cuz I get cold. Every night right before bed I go pee one last time and it never fails...I almost always step on the wet mop we have by our shower. Really? Wet socks? Really? I did it again? Why don't I just move the mop..you ask? Brilliant question. I have no idea!

time change.

The time changed this weekend. Boo Hiss. I hate time change days.

They always annoyed me before and now even more so since I have a kiddo.

I went to get a coffee witha friend last night and we watched Nora playing in the park (she climbed a 4 rung ladder all by herself!) anywho, we were laughing because it was nearly 9:00pm and the park was FULL. In the States come 7pm things are winding down.

This time change is hard for that reason..it´s light until 10pm so the next thing you know it´s like 11pm and we are just eating dinner and winding down!

Hopefully we adjust soon. I´m already tired!

Speaking of inappropriate... /month 25

Nora! Today you are 25 months old. I was just talking to your daddy about how time goes way too fast. My head is in a tizzy and I want to snuggle you like a newborn but you won´t let me do that....you are WAY too busy these days.

Eating, sleeping, weight stuff is all the same as before. This month we went to the beach with friends and you loved it just as much as I remember you loving it. I can´t wait til it gets a bit warmer so we can go on the weekends and then you will be our little brown bear. You could play in the sand for hours on end with no whining and crying. YAY! Those are two of your favorite things to do these days. If you don´t grow up to be an actress I will be surprised! They´d be lucky to have you as you can have alligator tears at the drop of a hat! Now that´s talent.

You love to sing, dance, play at the park, color, draw, and do anything that makes a mess. We finger painted with a friend recently and you were in HEAVEN!

You can count to ten (usually skipping the number eight) and you know most of the colors. You also know circle and triangle thanks to Dora. Your speech has really picked up this month and Spanglish is in full force.

You know how to crawl out of your crib but thank God you don´t! I´m planning on keeping you in it until you are 35. We are kind of working on potty training but not really. I´m hoping by this summer at 2.5 you will be diaper free.

This month you enjoyed a birthday party with friends, finger painting on Anna´s patio, a weekend at the beach (cows and all) and lots of park time (your favorite).

You also had your first ¨flu bug¨ You had a fever, cold, and threw up about 7 times in your bed in one night. NOT FUN! Thank GOD it only lasted a day and that for the most part you are such a healthy girl as Daddy and I do not handle sickness well. It broke my heart to see you so sick! Hopefully no more of that is in the near future!

You love to read your ¨colors¨ book before bed..and by read I mean flip the pages as fast as possible, drink your warm milk and then we always sing ¨Jesus loves me¨ before we tuck you in. You are VERY particular about keeping things in order and making sure all your ¨ducks are in a row¨ (a bit OCD): I have NO idea where you got THAT from?!

Thanks for making us laugh on a daily basis (even though you are VERY naughty at times like most 2 year olds are) you have a heart of gold and a smile that could melt anyone´s heart.

Love you monkey!
Mama

I always knew Sears was scandalous.

As the NY Daily News Reports, parents have been outraged to learn that Sears has been selling clothing with such phrases as “Don’t Make Me Kick You in the Fallopian Tubes,” “Don’t Make Me Kick You in the Birth Canal,” and “Nice Girls Don’t Pepper Spray.” Other children’s clothing items with questionable slogans include a “Hung Like Daddy” t-shirt and an infant onesie reading "Official Irish Drinking Team, Irish Today Hungover.”

After numerous complaints, Sears is pulling the clothing

Wow! I personally like the ¨Hung like daddy¨ shirt!
So wrong in so many ways. Let´s just say that if your husbands penis is as small as your childs...or if your childs is as big as your husbands...well that´s just wrong!

really??

I went to go get N after her nap and before I could even set foot in her room she said "mama, paint nails...foot and fingers." This girl is killing me!

doctors galore

There´s nothing like getting felt up by your doctor at 9am. Even after childbirth this is still embarrassing. Some random person touching your boob is just A.W.K.W.A.R.D. Anywho, I found a lump so she had to check it out and now I have to get a mammogram. GREAT. Smashy boob;( I will let u know how that turns out.

I´m getting some blood taken on Friday and just an overall ¨physical¨ since I haven´t had one for awhile.

She also gave me some medicine for this terrible cold I´ve had for a week. It was like a 3 for one visit. Score! And she got to feel my boobs....which is any doctors dream.

50

Stores are so freaking weird about money here. If you have a fifty euro bill or anything higher you might as well not even have any money at all because the majority of the time that you try to pay with these bills you will always hear, ¨Sorry, we don´t have change for that.¨ This is something that I will never understand. Ok, so let me get this straight, here I am, a customer with money trying to pay for my product and you´re telling me, ¨you don´t have change?¨ Well, then go get some IDIOTS.

Yesterday I had to go to the supermarket to buy a few things so I got a 50 euro bill out of my drawer that I´d been saving for the supermarket. When I went to check out they put my bill through their ¨special bill machine¨ to make sure it was real and it kept flashing red instead of green. So the cashier sent it over to a few different ¨machines¨ and the same thing happened. WTF! Here I am waiting in line..causing an even bigger line and wanting to pull out a hand grenade, throw it and run. I ended up paying with my credit card because my bill ¨wasn´t acceptable.¨

I used it today to buy something else so here´s a BIG MIDDLE FINGER for you ¨money machine d-bag!!!!¨

;(

It has been crazy around here ever since we got back from the Beach last weekend. We all immediately got colds and have been hacking up lungs all week long. Then, on Saturday night Nora puked in her bed from midnight until 9 in the morning like 7 times! Each time in her bed. I swear I have never done so much laundry in my LIFE and I hate puke. She has never had the flu before so I was NOT used to all this vomit. Everywhere. It just smells. No matter how good you clean that smell was like STUCK in my nostrils all weekend long and I almost gagged every time I had to clean it up. I know it´s part of the deal, but man, I´m so glad this is not an ordinary thing around here.

We went to the hospital yesterday so that we could see a pediatrician since N had a fever and was throwing up. We waited for three hours so that they could tell us that she has a cold and possibly a stomach virus. Ya think? Thanks for that insight! I suppose it´s better to be safe than sorry.

Here´s to a better week!

on swimming

Swimming has always been a very big part of my life ever since I was born. I was fortunate enough to have a pool in my childhood home. There is a picture of my mom floating on a raft in the pool with moi on her stomach like two days after my birth. Ok, maybe not that soon considering I was born in December. We´ll go with six to seven mths old then. I loved it!

My next door neighbors were like Olympian swimmers so they gave us our swim lessons in the summer. I feel like I didn´t even have to learn though cuz I just KNEW how. I was born ready.

There are so many memories of my childhood that involve a pool and some sort of pool hopping. Hot summer days when you are a kid consisted of just that....pool hopping days! Hop on your bike and hop into a neighbor´s pool, and then change to another and another and next thing you know it´s dark, you are exhausted with raisin fingers and chlorine scented skin. Don´t forget the green hair. I never slept so soundly.

We moved when I was 11 and we had no pool! GASP. Ya, that lasted for one summer and a pool was immediately put in. Smart move mom! This was the beginning of middle school pool parties and high school pool parties. Oh the memories! And I was skinny then wearing a one piece, what was I thinking? I should have been topless rocking a thong.

I think I would have dominated on the swim team and then I found out they practiced at 5am and then again after school got out. Being in a pool at 5am in the middle of winter sounded like my worst nightmare. I was dedicated, but not that much. It was bad enough having to get into the pool during gym class and NO GIRL wanted to get their beloved tresses damp. It´s a death sentence to have a bad hair day at 16.

All of this I thought about today. When I decided to swim laps at my gym for exercise. I bought a new speedo, goggles and a swim cap and I was ready to go. I´m not gonna lie..I hate wearing b suits and esp now in March when I am pale and extra flubby, but whatevs, I still did it. It was glorious. There´s just something about being in the water that makes me calm and I can think so clearly. I also imagine that I´m an Olympic swimmer and that all eyes are on me. Oh wait, it´s just the people in the cafeteria that can see the pool from where they are sitting. Oh well, it will have to do for now.

Beach Bums

We just got back from a Fri to Sun trip to the beach w three other couples. It was super fun!

The beach is 2 hours away so it´s not the easiest drive with a two year old who voms in the car (she did follow through w her vomiting on the way home...ick!) but nevertheless we dragged ourselves there.

It always cracks me up that two days at the beach and we need a UHAUL van ..I swear...we had two bags of clothes packed, a big cooler and another bag of STUFF. Not to mention a travel crib and a stroller. This might be why I never go anywhere to spend the night. Stress!

We had BBQ´s, good wine and ate dinner under the beautiful starry sky while listening to the ocean. Pretty cool for March!

Nora of course loved it and and kept saying ¨beach, beach!¨ She wouldn´t have wanted to be anywhere else.

We felt the sand between our toes, built sand castles, and ate melty ice cream.

I cannot WAIT for summer!
