29 months

Dear Nora, Today you are 9 months old weighing in at around 30 lbs. We were at the store today and some lady asked me if you were three. I said, no that you were two, but I should have said you were five. ha. You had your fourth plane ride on Sat (third trip to America) You did as good as a two year old can do! We woke you up at 430, flew for 45 minutes to Madrid, had a four hour layover there, then had a 9 hour flight to Chicago, had to wait in the customs line, get our luggage and then have a 2 hour car ride home. Not to mention dinner at Hacienda because that´s a must. I think you did a fabulous job:) You have been doing so great this trip so far, much better than last year. You´re less clingy, and will go to anyone. We left you in daycare at the gym and you did great. You are sleeping your 11 hours at night and a great nap schedule too. So far so good! You JUMPED off the diving board when we took you to the pool the other day. You are SO fearless, that´s one of the many things I love so much about you. You pointed to it and said, ¨Jump Mama!¨ You are speaking a LOT of English which I love:) Each day there are more phrases. ¨I don´t like it¨ seems to be your favorite at the moment. You also used ¨not yet¨ correctly last night which I thought was hilarious. I´d never heard you say it before. Thanks for being so wonderful. Love you always, Mama

We are home

and it's fun. Nora survived getting up at 4:30, a 45 minute flight to Madrid, a 4 hour layover in Madrid, a 9 hour flight to Chicago, a long line in customs, getting luggage and a 2 hour drive to Indiana. All of which she only slept 2 hours in the plane and had a minor five minute breakdown wanting to "go out" and "sleep in bed" she did great! So far this year is already way better than last year and it's only been two nights. She is just sleeping better and since she is older wanting to play with other kids more and go to the pool etc. So far so good!!!!!!!!!! I've already made a trip to Wal-mart and Hacienda. Oh, and don't forget DQ!

too perfect

For the past month or so I´ve been taking N to the pool every afternoon. You get to know the ¨crew¨ cuz it´s pretty much the same people every day. There is this one lady that I can´t stop staring at. She is just so freaking beautiful and perfect it´s ridiculous. Here is my lesbian self coming out...She has long black beautiful hair, HUGE (fake) boobs, THE perfect stomach, a nice butt and perfect legs. I mean, if other women are staring at her A)You KNOW she´s pefect and B)100 percent of the mens eyes are on her at all times. To make me hate her even more she has TWO gorgeous kids (ages four and two boy and girl) and her husband is a professional soccer player. They could pretty much ALL be on the cover of a magazine at any time and make a lot of money. I mean, it´s one thing if ONE or TWO of your fam members are pretty good looking but ALL of them are PERFECT. It was so weird because I was just blow drying my hair and had a total de ja vu of when N was around 3 mths and we were in the waiting room at the doctors office for her check up. A lady came in with her young daughter and her baby boy in the stroller. I remember thinking how freaking cute they both were and that she was so freaking skinny for just having a baby like a mth ago....it was THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can´t believe I didn´t put it all together before, but there ya have it. Today was shoot Sara in the face with a water gun in the kiddy pool day. I will just warn you that I am like Miranda on SATC and pretty much think kids are all freaking annoying besides my own. I wanted to HEAD DUNK those little A holes and SLAM their faces against the bottom of the pool, but hey, that´s just me. HA! I´m kidding...kind of. Sometimes I´m so shocked at how rude some people are. Yesterday I kept getting honnked at on my bike when I was crossing the road and the light was green for ME ALSO I was talking to a friend of mine at the pool and our kids were jumping off the side for a total of 2 minutes. This one lady started to FREAK out and just started going off on us like ¨THATS ENOUGH! I´ve been dealing with this all afternoon...¨ and she just would.not.stop. So, instead of doing what I REALLY wanted to do which was punch her out and then push her into the pool (why am I so aggressive? Maybe I´m a secret kick boxer at heart) I just walked away. Blek. Ok, so we are leaving for the USA in two days (sat) Hopefully people are nicer there and not as hot..ha!

Ghost Adventures

So, on Saturday night we started to watch this show called ¨Ghost Adventures¨ It´s about these three guys that go to haunted locations to try to contact the paranormal with their special equipment etc. It´s prob not the best show to watch right before bed, but I´m hooked. So, on Saturday night this episode was on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_xF49I3P3w It´s at Pennhurst in Pennsylvania. It´s a mental institute! Ok, so I was super freaked out after that show and then randomly I remembered my mom telling me a long time ago that she worked at a mental institute back in college one summer to try to save money. (and that she was living in Pennsylvania) To make a long story short...SHE WORKED THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about intense. Working in a mental institution or a nursing home=awful. Watch the video! DO IT!

The Flip Flop Pledge

The Flip Flop Pledge! Just a friendly reminder, it's that time of the year again. Please raise your big toes and repeat after me: As a member of the Faux Paux Sisterhood, I pledge to follow The Rules when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes: - I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps. -I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe. -I will sand down any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow. -I will shave the hairs off my big toe. -I won't wear pantyhose (with sandals) even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother, sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it there. -If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back in to place hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it. No matter how much it hurts. -I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr. Scholl's if my feet need him. -I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk properly when standing in a pool of sweat, and I would hate to take someone down with me as I fall and break my ankle. -I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and begin to look like Vienna sausages. -I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that her toes look like they've been dragged behind her car on the way to work and no sandal in the world is going to make her feet look good. -I will promise if I wear flip flops, that I will ensure they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them. -I will promise to go to my local beauty school at least once per season and have a real pedicure (they are about $15 and worth EVERY penny). I say spend another $15.00 and get a even better one. And finally... -I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals. For all our sakes, please don't keep this to yourself, pass it on to other Sisters. May God Bless your Soles as well as your Soul!

Happy 4th!

Happy Birthday America! I have not been home for the fourth of July in SEVERAL years, but we hope to make it back sometime soon. I have so many fond memories of this holiday. Fireworks, fireworks and more fireworks. Not to mention awesome food and good times with family and friends. I´m missing it today and wishing N could experience all the fun. Maybe next year. I love you America. See you in ten days!

bra-less in Sevilla

So,lately in the afternoons I´ve been taking N to the pool, Antonio picks her up after a couple of hours and then I workout (since our gym is at the pool). So, I wear my bathing suite to the pool and take my workout clothes in a plastic bag to change into later. As I was getting changed I realized I had a huge problem. I forgot my sports bra. Hmm.This was a problem. Was I supposed to workout in a wet bathing suite? Negative. Should I just go home? No! I really wanted to workout. Let me just point out to you that pretty much since the instant I found out I was pregnant with Nora I have worn a bra (besides the shower). I even SLEEP in a sports bra because I was not going to become another saggy mother boob statistic. I suppose nature is an ugly nasty bitch because I feel like my boobs are disgusting. So, now I just wear a sports bra to hide them at all times. So, that said it was a horrifying thought to think about WORKOUT OUT without a bra! GASP. But..I DID! I felt like everyone was staring at me. I felt NAKED. I´m pretty sure it was super obvious that I was not wearing a bra...I mean come on, pointy anyone much? BUT the ladies and I survived, however I hope to never have to repeat this awful bra-less experience. The girls were happy to be reunited with their bra, happy and tucked away where they belong.
