Halloween! 23 weeks!

This week is going by fast. Probably because I´ve been working non-stop. I start at 8am Mon to Thur and I get done at either 830pm or 930 pm every night. Talk about tired-town. I need money for this Diva that´s coming in Feb. ha! I felt like crap this morning but I just ate a ginormous bocadillo so I´m feeling better now! If the mid-wife tells me I´m too fat I might slap her in the face next time I see her!!!!

Almost 23 weeks, time seems to be going by fast. It´s strange because I see all of baby´s clothes, etc. and I just can´t even imagine what it will be like to have her here! I can´t wait to snuggle with her! Please pray for a healthy girl!

One thing that I´ve been surprised about here in Spain is that no one ever offers me a seat on the bus or tram. I am shocked! I thought people would. Hmmm.....interesting. Everyone always says how ¨big¨ I am and young.........sorry I´m not wanting to wait until I´m 40 to have a kid like the rest of the women here! One of my students told me today that she had a friend who had twins when she was 52. How about them apples? There was also a lady on the news that was 46 and she thought she had a growing tumor in her stomach. She went to the doc and he said, ¨You are 36 weeks pregnant¨ and she gave birth a few days later. CRAZY!

We still haven´t gotten the nursery set up yet...no time! Hopefully I´ll be able to do that over the Christmas Holiday.

One of my students asked me today if I am ¨ An American Woman or an English woman?¨ I thought that was hilarious ........a)the way she asked it and b)my accent could never be mistaken for a brit!

I´m really missing fall. It´s supposed to be 90º this Fri. Seriously? I see all these cute pumpkin patch pics of kids......boo hoo. No pumpkin patch here! They are all prob fried up from the heat!
I miss Halloween too. That was such a fun time when I was younger.

Ok, must go take nappie before class begins again. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather for me!

Experiment

So, I was reading in a book of mine that the baby can distinguish between light and dark and it said to shine a flashlight on my belly and she´s surely be active. So, we tried it last night and.........it works! It´s so cool! Anywhere we pressed the flashlight on my belly we could see her kick and my stomach moved. So happy she´s active!

Naked

is what I want to be right now. How in the HECK is it 89º the last week of October? Seriously? I´m in a tank top and I´ve had to change my bra and underwear twice already today because the other ones were sweaty and gross. MISERY!!!!!!! Fall and cool temps WHERE ARE YOU????? The whole point of getting prego when I did is because I thought it was going to be cooler......ya, I guess I thought wrong!

It's seventy degrees and cool in Sevilla today. What a nice change!!!!!!!!!!!! I have my Yankee " harvest" candle burning and it smells delish. Too bad it's supposed to be hot again this weekend. NOOOOOOOOOOO!


I woke up at six thirty am with a Charlie Horse. HOLY MOTHER it hurt like heck. I was like OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH. Not good. My calf still hurts when I walk on it and it probably will for another few days. I'm eating a lot of bananas so not sure what's up with that?

Baby girl is good and will be 22 weeks on Fri. She's moving around a lot in there. Too bad no one offers me a seat on the bus:(

21 week ultrasound

It's confirmed:GIRL! My how she's grown in a month! She's all stretched out in there!

Going to the doctor always cracks me up here in Spain. People are in and out, cell phones are ringing on the desk...what the? I've lived here for five years and I never really have gotten used to that. I'm used to the good ole' US of A where it's just you and your doctor and everything is calm and quiet. Gotta take it all with a grain of salt. Can't wait to see what birth and delivery are going to be like. How many people will I have running in and out then when my legs are spread ....well, you get the picture. I'm not saying they don't do a good job...I'm just saying it's...well, different. I guess that's what makes it exciting. Or scary as heck. Either way, I just hope and pray that my baby girl is healthy and happy.

Bad Drivers

Here in Spain women are the WORST drivers. I really can't explain how they pay 600 euros and tons of tests to get their license and they SUCK!!!!!

There is still a lot of construction going on here and today I had to walk on the road a bit because the sidewalk was closed. This crazy lady in a mini van comes right towards me and starts HONKING! Are u freaking kidding me?

As I was walking away I remembered a question on my drivers test that was like, " If you see a pedestrian do you....... A. Honk and hope they get out of the way B Yield to the pedestrian or C Run over them. Apparently people here would have chosen A and C.

Ugh! People keep telling me, "You can' t possibly be only five months. Your stomach is HUGE." Gee, thanks. That makes me feel fantastic. I can't exactly suck in people. She just has a big brain and needs lots of room! Enclosed are a few pics of my baby shower that my fam had for me while I was home in Sept. Baby girl is all set!

España!

It´s October and I´m back in Spain. I has a fab time in IN and I was loving the fall temps. It´s 90º here.....still! What the heck?! It´s Oct. and it´s supposed to be upper 80s for a few more weeks. I´m still sleeping with the AC on!!!!

So, the flight was fine although I had gas the whole time and it REALLY hurts when you hold that in. Every time I went to the bathroom I couldn´t fart.......and then as soon as I sat down it came back. It was HORRIBLY painful. No wonder babies cry when they have gas pains. I wanted to cry and I´m 28. So, I went back and asked the flt. attdt if she had any Tums since I was on my deathbed. First she said, ¨You should be seated.¨ I just ignored her and said TUMS?????????? She said, ¨Tampax??????????¨ What the???????????? I´m almost 20 mths prego does it look like I need a TAMPAX?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IDIOT!

So, now I´m back trying to get organized etc. Oh the joy! I start work Mon;O(
