MC Hammer pants are back in style...at least in Spain anyways.

I should whip out the ones my gma Trudy made me in fourth grade. Think they would still fit? They were peach...and awesome.

I´m so thankful for my friend Anna. She´s been able to take some pics of Nora pretty much every month! We went to the park the other day. Here are a few of my favorites...

That was awkward...

So, Antonio plays soccer on Mon and Tues nights so I usually take a walk with Julia (mother in law) and Nora.

Yesterday we were walking and for some reason we got on the topic of breast size during pregnancy and breast size in general. I was saying mine are pretty much the same size and she said, "let me see" and then gave them a squeeze....in the middle of the street.......with people watching. "Yup," she said, "they seem the same." Then she told me to feel hers....and how sturdy and " Up " they are for a woman her age. So.....I did.......in the middle of the street....with people watching.....I felt up my mother in law. And then we just kept walking like nothing had happened. God I love my life.

3 months!

Dear Nora Lindsay,
Today you are three months old and I am in disbelief at how big you are. You weigh a little over 16 lbs. and everyone in the street thinks you are at least 5 months old. You have so many rolls I've lost count and that belly! I think it has its own zip code by now!!!!!There is hope however that one day you might actually be athletic because you are so strong and constantly moving those arms and legs around.

You've started to sprout hair which is adorable and it looks like mama's color. For now we can't tell if it's curly or straight. You also like to pull my hair which hurts like heck!

You are not too fond of loud noises and you scare very easily. The other day you were chilling on your dads lap and he sneezed....you cried HARD for a good ten minutes. Poor little lamb.

You are also quite the actress. One minute you are laughing and the next you are crying.

You have definitely discovered your hands and they are usually in your mouth 99 percent of the time! Sometimes you put your whole hand in your mouth and you spit up you must stick it so far down your throat! We've tried to give you pacifiers but you hate those and spit them out immediately. We laugh because lots of time it looks like you are " chewing gum" and we joke that it must be a good piece of juicy fruit.

I've noticed that you put your thumb between your middle finger and index finger to relax....just like your mama!

You had your first cold this past month which was pretty sad. Your eyes were watery and you needed extra cuddle time. I must admit, even your little cough was cute.

You have been sleeping like a champion and we couldn't be happier! Most nights you are asleep by 1030pm and then you wake up anywhere between 6-8am. You eat and then wake up at 10am. Not too shabby for a three month old!

You are playing more and more each day and you finally like your bouncy chair. Sometimes I lay you in the middle of our bed while I'm getting ready in the morning and I hear you laughing from the other room. Most of the time you are staring at our closet or a picture on the wall. Maybe they talk to you while mama isn't in the room?

I read to you every night and I think you really like books. You get really quiet and check out all of the pictures and sounds. I just ordered you 15 or so new books for your library! I hope you like them!

This month you also got your little passport for our trip in July. Not many people can say they have dual passports at age three months! You have the cutest little photo too!

You still LOVE to be outside and I'm not quite sure what we would have done if you would have been a winter baby. You take many naps in your stroller and you've even started rubbing your eyes when you are sleepy.

You are SO ticklish on your tummy and back you can barely stand it when anyone touches you there and you are still the noisiest eater in the world!

You still sleep in a mini crib next to our bed because " down the hall" is still too far away for mama to bear. I LOVE looking at you while you sleep with your little arms crossed to support your head and your Angelina Jolie lips open and puckered sucking an imaginary ta ta in your dreams! You always end up diagonal somehow...I guess you like it that way!

Yesterday I was feeding you and you just stopped, stared at me and gave me the biggest smile I've ever seen as if to say, "hey, I know you!" and it brought tears to my eyes to know that we have a healthy, happy, beautiful baby girl to call our own for the rest of our days. Thank you so much Nora for being such a wonderful little baby and I can't even wait until tomororw...and the next day........and the day after that....So happy to be your mama!

"She remembered that when she'd had her first baby she had realized with astonishment that the perfect couple consisted of a mother and a child and not, as she had always supposed, a man and a woman." Alice Thomas Ellis

phew

Thanks to the economy crisis they are doing away with the 2,500 euros as of January. Thank goodness Nora was born this year!

Tragedy-all of the pop tarts that my friend brought me are gone (3 boxes). Oh pop tarts how I miss thee!!! boo hoo.

Gross-Every person that I see smoking here are 20 something women. I barely ever see men it's always women. Eww. Don't they know that's a disgusting habit and they don't look " cool " at all!!!!!!

Stop Looking at Me Swan

Our neighborhood is divided into 2 parts old Spain 60 yrs plus and modern spain....students. There is no inbetween. I think Antonio and I are the only high 20s 30 somethings. Old Spain are the women that have always been stay at home moms to cook, clean, do laundry and have never driven a car in their lives. *my mother in law. They use their carts and go buy every day. Modern Spain are those of us that go to the supermarket once a week, drive cars, have jobs and nannies. In my building there are four older women and the rest are students. *We have a uni. near our house*

Sometimes I feel like the "older Spanish women" are constantly watching us. They love to gather on the corner and gossip about everyone in the neighborhood and it really freaks me out. I kind of just stick to myself and really have no clue about what's going on with anybody...ummm..because it's none of my business!

Everytime I go for walks with Nora some older woman stops me and says, "I always see you walking out of your building with your baby......" And then they talk to me for an hour about how big she is, tan, and fat. About how big my belly was when I was prego etc. What who are you again? It totally freaks me out!

Nora is going to have no problems with other strangers holding her or touching her...they already do!!!!!

By the way...we weighed her today and she is sixteen lbs! Holy cow. Everytime someone sees her they think she is at least five mths old. She's not yet three. Bwah!

...

Nora went to sleep at 10:30 last night and woke up at 8:00 this morning. I have the best baby in the world!!!!!!

I'm also excited that her name is NOT on the top 100 list of popular girl names. Mission accomplished. I like my name, but growing up there were at least three other Sara's in my class and I was always Sara F. That was kind of a bummer. So, we wanted a "normal" name, but just one that wasn't so dang popular! The funny thing is about five years ago I said I wanted Isabella.....now that name is number 1 on the list! It's a nice name, but Nora was in the cards.

tears

Sometimes I surprise myself when I choose to cry. I didn't shed a tear during childbirth *Until she was born........and recently I've been elbowed in the boob twice (thanks to my lovely husband) and I cried both times....a lot. Maybe it's because it felt like a knife was going through my rock hard gigantic boob full of milk. Maybe?

I also cried yesterday when we saw a tiny black kitten on the side of the highway. How the heck did it get there?
There was basically nowhere for it to go but straight to its death. Sadness.

I cried when Nora got her two mth shots and I wasn't even in the room. And the list goes on and on.

Weirdness! I blame it on the hormones.

Just me

and my monkey.

MOM

Happy Mother's day to all you mother's out there. Especially mine:O) Now I know what she meant when she said, "You'll see when you have a child of your own."

Never have I known a love so deep, a heart so full, and a life so fulfilled as I do now.

I pray God gives me wisdom to be a good mother and thank Him for His wonderful blessings.

Love you Nora. I'm glad I can be your mama!

?

How do you lose a shoe walking down the sidewalk and not notice? I just walked to the gym and there was a high heeled shoe under the tree. This isn´t the first single shoe that I´ve seen on the street and it´s always baffled me. Where is the other shoe? Did your shoe just fall off and you couldn´t be bothered to pick it up so you kept walking? Did a dog attack you and all that´s left is a shoe? I mean, what´s the scenario here?
